Our Story
Silver Valley Search & Rescue was founded in February, 1960 as Shoshone County Search & Rescue. We’ve evolved since then, however no matter what our name is, we have a deep commitment to serving our local community as well as those in neighboring counties.
All of our members are volunteers that live in various areas surrounding Shoshone County, with various levels of training, equipment and experience, including avalanche, wilderness/mountain, and drone. Funded by donations, and in partnership with local law enforcement, we have been able to conduct several successful missions over the years to bring home lost loved ones.

Our commitment is to provide the necessary training, support and resources to safely conduct search and rescue efforts to bring home the lost and stranded.
